Business Spotlight : Fruit Tea Chicks

It’s Monday! A new start to a new week, and we have an exciting post to share with you today. A little back story, Christy Jo and I met about 6 years ago thru her barn sale The Strawberry Patch in Hartsville, Tenn. I helped her with some graphic design and honestly, this is probably the very place that I feel in love with this industry. Christy Jo’s adventurous spirit and creative ideas just jived with something in my soul too and we have been through it all since. Her business has flourished and she has really made a name for herself. She has created a tribe of followers that come from miles/hours/states even to attend her events. I truly admire her and can’t wait to share her new journey with you.

Hello everyone! I’m Christy Jo, host of The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale in Hartsville, Tenn which is where you will find my heart and soul. In 2009, after twisting a few arms, I began hosting a glorified yard sale in my backyard with a small group of girls who have since become my best friends. I’m proud to say that it was the first Barn Sale of its kind in the state of Tennessee! We quickly outgrew my backyard space, so in the spring of 2011 we decided to step things up a notch and move the sale to my family’s farm, Starlite Farm. I put my heart and soul into this show and look forward to each one! Just recently, I decided it was time for my two girls to have their own niche within my events.

Fruit tea has always been a staple item in our fridge at home. My friends and family loved my recipe so I figured it would be something easy for my children to sell + earn a little money. Maybe even learn some responsibility! ;) I toggled with the idea for a couple of years before jumping in head first last spring. We hit the road and started to attend some local events and quickly realized people LOVED our tea, numerous people even described it as “liquid crack!”  I love seeing the reaction from folks as they sometimes come back for 3 or 4 refills!

Although the Fruit Tea Chicks was a dream for my children, it actually has become by very own adventure. (My kids have decided they aren’t too keen on the work involved)

So I will be out and about attending and selling, so keep a lookout for my little booth and glasses of fresh, homemade fruit tea.

  • My daughter-n-law works in Mt. Juliet at a dentist office and the served you fruit tea at a dinner. She brought a bottle home for me. I’m such a picky drinker I only drink about 4 different things.(water, orange juice, coke and lemonade) I drank your fruit tea and love it 😍. Can this be purchased, how much and where?
